Health & Wellness


OSF HealthCare provides comprehensive medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage.

Eligibility Medical & Dental - Regular employment at 32 hours per pay period.

Effective Date Effective the same day of the next month following your hire date (e.g. start date is 6/5, coverage date is 7/5)

OSF HealthCare offers two types of flexible health spending accounts for setting aside tax-free dollars to help pay for eligible out-of-pocket expenses. If you elect a flexible spending account, you contribute to it before taxes in equal installments each pay period throughout the year.

Our Medical Spending Account is designed to help pay for medical, dental and vision expenses, up to an annual limit designated by the IRS. Dependent Care Spending Account can help pay for day/child care expenses for children under age 13 and qualifying older dependents, up to a maximum of $5,000.

The vision plan may be purchased for Mission Partner and/or dependents and covers one (1) eye exam every 12 months with a co-pay and glasses (lenses and frames) every 24 months with a co-pay. In lieu of glasses, contact lenses may be purchased up to a certain allowance.

Time-Off Benefits for Work/Life Balance


Each eligible Mission Partner will receive 40 hours of well-being and sick time frontloaded annually on their OSF service anniversary date. Well-being and sick time can be used for anything, including:

  • Illness (you or a family member)
  • Medical appointments (you or a family member)
  • Volunteer time
  • Mission Partner mental health days

Eligibility All Mission Partners who work 32 hours or more per pay period

Effective Date New hires are able to access this time after the first 90 days of employment

The extended illness benefit will provide 100% salary replacement (up to the amount available for your months of service) for eligible Mission Partners who are on an approved, continuous leave of absence for their own illness or injury, including the medical portion of maternity leave.


Eligibility All Mission Partners who work 32 hours or more per pay period

Effective Date New hires are able to access this time after the first 90 days of employment. Hours are frontloaded annually in the pay period that includes your seniority date.

For eligible Mission Partners who are medically unable to work because of a non-work-related injury or covered illness, short-term disability benefits may replace a portion of your pay for up to 26 weeks. Disability benefits will be paid at the rate of 60% of your pre-disability hourly rate of pay for each normally scheduled workday missed.

Eligibility All Mission Partners who work 32 hours or more per pay period

Paid caregiver time will provide 40 hours of 100% salary replacement for eligible Mission Partners during parental bonding time or when caring for an ill family member while on an approved leave of absence.

Eligibility All Mission Partners who work 60 hours or more per pay period

Effective Date New hires are able to access this time after the first 90 days of employment

For eligible Mission Partners, vacation and holiday time is available to use for vacation, the six recognized OSF holidays, personal time, and sick time. Hours will accrue based on compensated hours up to 80 hours per period.


Eligibility All Mission Partners who work 32 hours or more per pay period

Effective Date Accrual for vacation and holiday hours begin immediately on the first day of employment

Rehire Seniority Programs


The Grace Period program is a seniority-focused program that restores seniority for the rehire to the most recent OSF employment hire date.

Eligibility Previous Mission Partners who accept a position at OSF within one year of the most recent termination date.

Effective Date The change to the seniority date in the HR system will be updated within the first pay period of employment.

The Comeback Campaign is a seniority-focused program for select clinical, staff-level positions that adds credit for the most recent OSF clinical work history onto the Mission Partner’s new seniority date.

Eligibility Previous Mission Partners who have been terminated from OSF for a minimum of one year whose most recent OSF work history was in a clinical position and are being hired into an eligible clinical, staff-level position.

Effective Date The change to the seniority date in the HR system will be updated within the first pay period of employment.

Retirement


401(k) Mission Partners contribute a percentage of their salary (up to 90%, up to IRS limit) per pay period. OSF matches this contribution dollar for dollar up to the first 5% of your eligible pay.

We also offer a catch-up contribution if you are 50 or older by year end (up to IRS limit; no employer match). An additional discretionary contribution may be made annually based on age and years of service.

Eligibility Must be 21 years old and have completed 30 days of service.

Effective Date Mission Partners may choose to enroll after two (2) weeks of employment or they will be auto-enrolled at 1% after 30 days of employment.

Education Assistance


OSF Offers:

  • Select programs that are tuition-free, such as nursing through OSF colleges of nursing
  • A wide selection of programs covered up to $5,250 per year through education assistance or tuition reimbursement.
  • Select professional expense reimbursement up to $5,250 per year for education-related costs that aren’t necessarily tied to program tuition
  • No up-front tuition cost for eligible programs

Eligibility

All full-time, part-time and PRN Mission Partners are eligible on day one of employment with no work commitment. Learn more about education benefits.

Insurance


Life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage equal to 1.5 times base annual earnings, to a maximum of $100,000.

Eligibility Regular employment at 60 hours per pay period.

Effective Date Effective the same day of the next month following your hire date (e.g. start date is 6/5, coverage date is 7/5)

Up to 5 times annual base salary with a guaranteed issue of $500,000/3x within 30 days of hire. Coverage may not exceed $1,000,000/5x. Spouse and dependent coverage is also available.

Eligibility Regular employment at 60 hours per pay period.

Monthly disability benefit is 60% of base monthly earnings after 180 days of disability. Max monthly benefit is $10,000. Premiums based on age and salary.

Insurance that supplements your income with a lump sum payment in the event that you or a dependent is diagnosed with a critical illness, as defined by the policy. Various benefit levels are available.

Insurance that assists your family in the event that you or a family member has an accident.

Eligibility Regular employment at 60 hours per pay period.

Insurance designed to pay you a fixed daily benefit in the event you or family member have a covered stay in a hospital, intensive care unit or rehabilitation facility. Benefit amounts vary and depend on the type of facility and number of days of admission.
