As an integrated health care network, OSF HealthCare includes two colleges of nursing and multiple technical schools, residency and internship opportunities. Additionally, OSF partners with local schools and college to provide a wide range of learning opportunities to students of all ages.

Saint Anthony College of Nursing

Saint Anthony College of Nursing, located in Rockford, Illinois, is a fully accredited nursing college offering Baccalaureate and Master level degrees. The school is recognized throughout Rockford and the surrounding communities for its excellence in nursing education.

Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing

Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing is affiliated with and located on the campus of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. The school is a private, non-profit, specialized nursing college offering upper division undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

Technical Schools

OSF Saint Francis School of Clinical Laboratory Science
The clinical laboratory science curriculum at OSF Saint Francis develops competent professionals, skilled in both theory and practice of laboratory procedures. Providing a backdrop for the clinical experience is a highly automated clinical laboratory, where a wide variety of routine and specialty test procedures are performed daily.

OSF Saint Francis School of Histotechnology
Histology technicians facilitate accurate diagnosis by preparing microscopic slides of tissue for examination by a pathologist. OSF Saint Francis School of Histotechnology provides a seven month structured program offering both laboratory, online, and classroom instruction. Students are assigned to rotations through each work station where they learn manual techniques and operation of automated lab instruments.

OSF Saint Francis School of Radiography
A radiographer is one who, under the direction of a radiologist, performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring independent judgment and critical thinking skills. OSF Saint Francis School of Radiography is a 24-month, hospital-based program of full-time study. Graduates are competent, entry-level radiographers, eligible to sit for the national examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Residencies & Internships

Dental Residency - OSF Saint Francis Medical Center
The dental residency program at OSF Saint Francis is a 12-month, full-time residency program designed in conformance with the guidelines of the Council on Dental Education and the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. The program supports four residents. A certificate is awarded upon satisfactory completion of the program.

Pharmacy Residency - OSF Saint Francis Medical Center
The pharmacy residency program at OSF Saint Francis allows students to join a team of more than 60 full-time pharmacists who provide inpatient services to a number of clinical zones and pharmacies throughout the OSF Saint Francis and Children's Hospital of Illinois campus. The staff provides residents with a wide variety of required and elective rotations and are dedicated to providing a broad experience to residents to equip them for future careers in pharmacology.

Dietetic Internship - OSF Saint Francis Medical Center
The OSF Saint Francis Dietetic Internship program is a 52-week supervised program. It provides stimulating and challenging learning opportunities for the dietetic college graduate. With acceptance to this program, you will be a part of a high performance healthcare team and develop leadership skills necessary for a career in dietetics. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the intern will be a competent entry-level dietitian, eligible to apply for active membership in the American Dietetic Association (ADA), and take the Registered Examination for licensure as a Registered Dietitian.

Summer Nursing Externship 
The 10-week summer nursing externship program at OSF HealthCare was developed to provide nursing students with an educational opportunity to improve their nursing skills in the clinical setting while at the same time providing them with summer employment. Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN), the nursing intern will provide direct patient care, gaining hands-on experience and enhancing assessment skills. This program will also assist in the development of organizational and time management skills. While working in a collegial relationship with registered nurses, the nursing intern will gain a better understanding of professional practice.
